FRIDAY AND SATURDAY - MARCH 30,31

Well, we have had the last Summit Session today. There is a lot going on and the final parts were as inspiring as most of the other parts have been.

Yesterday was the longest day. It was filled with some crunchy business matters and organizational issues. When there are people from thirty nations and some of them are having the matters interpreted both ways it sometimes gets a bit difficult. The overwhelming issue is that everyone believes in what is going on here and whatever the issues are it is obvious that there is a strong urge to meet the challenges.

TRANSFORMATIONS NETWORK

This was a gathering of people who are either the participants in some things that God has and is doing to bring about major community changes OR they are people who are committed to the idea and are seeking God and working together with the believers, church and city leaders to see that happen.

In the midst of all that we have heard testimony to major changes; almost every area of a society has some example of transformation: churches, governments, business, health, education, the arts, law and order. It is striking to hear about it. In the midst of all of that with people coming to know Christ in an unprecedented way makes me excited and expectant along with a little frustration. We in the west have all the structures and the resources but none of the change. The parts of the world where there are none of these are the ones that are being changed. No wonder we have problems. We are capable of thinking that luxury is better than lack even if we don't see the kingdom of God come. I suspect that while that is the case we won't. And its hasn't just got to do with things. I think it has to do with our attitude to them. They have become our prisoners. No wonder God warned the Israelites that when the entered the land and became prosperous using resources that they did not work for, they would find themselves pressured to forget the covenant with God that made the impossible possible in the first place.

We heard of great increases in all of these areas today but that there were serious backlashes. In one area where there is great advance for the kingdom, the universities are becoming the hub of a backlash of rejection that is becoming angry and violent. The enemy doesn't like being pushed out of any territory he has occupied. We heard of other universities in other parts of the world where students have been setting up prayer tents and praying for forty days in a stretch, 24/7, and where God is sovereignly touching, healing and changing the atmosphere on the campus.

We have heard stories of places where the first Transformations were filmed and heard that the unity is becoming deeper and stronger, the challenges are being met with faith and love and desperate prayerful servant action and where each of the obstacles are being overcome. In Cali all the numbers are still going in the right direction. Homicides continuing to go down, kidnappings, drug activity etc. Churches are continuing to see people come to Christ. Areas of community life are being transformed area by area. All kinds of things are going on between the churches and the government agencies to see the communities improve their health, welfare and mercy work. In other cases the two things increase at the same time. In Fiji there has been a coup and who knows what will be the result, but at this gathering there was an Indian Fijian and an indigenous Fijian who told of whole villages continueing to turn to God and the two racial groups being joined together.

FIREQUEST
The Fellowship of Transformation Partners here has embarked on a very ambitious project to cover all five hundred of the places where there is reported transformation activity. This is a join project that will go on for the next three years and will see a new set of reports delivered to the world by video every three months. I can't think how many stories there will be and since it has been growing at an almost exponential rate, there will be even more work to do by the time that is done.

Anyway, we will be in Seattle tomorrow and then leave for home on Monday.

Looking forward to it.

Love to you

Brian
